From the outside, it seemed as if Ben and Jess Owen had lost everything to alcoholism and addiction-their families, homes, and even a million-dollar business. Their work has taken them across the globe. In Afghanistan, they helped rescue veterans during a chaotic US evacuation. Back home, Ben testified before Congress about that experience. From mass funerals in Uvalde, Texas, to mine fields in Ukraine to the fires of Lahaina, they show up for those struggling with loss.

Today, the heart of their mission remains in South Memphis where they're shutting down dope houses and renovating them into sate houses, and creating West Tennessee's largest treatment center.

Ben and Jess Owen are parents to eight (sometimes ten), grandparents to one, humanitarians, fighters of evil, bringers of hope, formerly addicted, alcoholic and homeless. They're also co-founders of two non-profits - We Fight Monsters and Flanders Fields - that help people in some of the worst places in America and the world. Ben loves sharing that Jess can drive, load, and fire a M18 Hellcat, a WWII tank destroyer. He's also the only crackhead ever invited to CIA headquarters.

When they're not in South Memphis helping others rebuild their lives after addiction, Ben and Jess can be found in rural Georgia where they live with their family.
